Anne Bancroft, Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate & Mrs. Mel Brooks in real life, died of uterine cancer yesterday at the age of 73. While she is best remembered for her classic role seducing Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate, she's also appeared in key roles in countless other movies including a phenomenal performance as Annie Sullivan against Patti Duke's Helen Keller in the Miracle Worker. Among my favorite of her performances in dramas are two lesser known but exceptional films 'Night Mother & 84 Charing Cross Road.
Rest in Peace.
