Delayed gratification

It looks like Tommy's buddies are s-l-o-w-l-y backing away from him, what gives?

Have the Republicans finally realized their actions on Terri Schiavo
overstepped their bounds? Have they finally realized that DeLay's fiery flatulence and threats to the judicial branch may be seen as the attempt to destroy the checks & balances our founding fathers set up to protect us against renegade representatives? Could it be that 43% of Americans think DeLay is an evil-doer?

Bill Frist now officially concurs with President Bush that the justices involved in the Terri Schiavo circus followed the law and acted fairly. Rick Santorum is suddenly rethinking his stance on ethics and his association with Delay as well as his own hypocritical stances (he may change his stance on the death penalty). Could any of this be due to the mid-term elections and Republican fears that what they'd originally thought would guarantee their continued power might actually bite them in the ass? Nah, I'm sure this is all about honor and has nothing to do with politics or polls.
