mommy's little neurologist-to-be

Well here's an interesting potential side effect to pregnancy: stray fetal stem cells in mice have been shown to colonize the brains of their mothers, possibly to do a little neurological repair work. The finding is important because if similar action occurs in humans, there is a possibility that these cells can be used to transport medications/other treatments for brain/neurological injuries across the blood-brain barrier.

Mind you, if this is also occurs in humans somebody will have to explain the fog commonly known as "placenta brain"?
